CTC crosses the finish line
It was the race that stopped the nation in Rockhampton. Around 2,000 people from the region and across Australia attended the charity event on Sunday 5th June.
This was the first year CTC organised the Rocky River Run and in the lead up to the event, staff were running around making sure the event went off with a bang! Ensuring it was an unforgettable event, a red carpet gala dinner was held for sponsors and supporters before the big weekend to celebrate. The event this year certainly put on a show in Rockhampton and included an impressive Zombie Run with a ghostly after party, personalised bibs, live music, food and coffee vans, free massages and face painting, as well as a donated finish line, and an opportunity to receive your run time via a text message.
A mix of people came down to participate and cheer their friends and family on. Children, students, families and even zombies came together to get fit and raise funds for youth issues.
IntoWork Australia Group CEO, Poul Bottern joined in on the action and participated in the 5km race.
The CTC Rocky River Run is a community event at the heart Rockhampton, celebrating its ninth year.
Funds raised for the charity event are directed towards youth issues including homelessness, mental health and the prevention of youth suicide.
Next year’s run will be held on Sunday the 28th of May.
