Interact Australia has been appointed to the Lifetime Support Authority (LSA) Attendant Care Panel, becoming an approved provider of Attendant Care Services for participants in South Australia’s Lifetime Support Scheme.
The appointment recognises Interact Australia’s experience delivering high-quality support services for people with disability and those living with complex injuries and support needs across Australia. Through the agreement, Interact Australia (part of the Intowork Group) is one of just 19 providers engaged by the LSA to provide High Intensity Attendant Care services to eligible Lifetime Support Scheme participants through individual service arrangements.
The Lifetime Support Scheme provides treatment, care and support for people who have sustained serious injuries in motor vehicle accidents in South Australia.
Jamie Barden, Chief Executive Officer of Interact Australia, said the appointment represented an important opportunity to support South Australians living with significant injuries.
“This appointment reflects the experience and capability of our team in delivering complex Attendant Care services. We look forward to working alongside participants and their families to provide support that responds to their individual needs and circumstances,” Mr Barden said.
“Our focus is always on building supports around the participant, understanding what matters most to them and empowering them to live as independently as possible.”
With more than 35 years’ experience supporting people with disability and disadvantage, Interact Australia delivers person-centred services that promote independence, inclusion and quality of life. The organisation currently operates across Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, ACT and New South Wales.
Serious injuries can require lifelong treatment, care and support to help people maximise their independence and participation in the community. On average, the Lifetime Support Scheme accepts approximately 50 new participants each year or one person around every eight days.
The appointment further strengthens Interact Australia’s ability to support individuals with complex care needs as a result of motor vehicle and workplace accidents, while providing South Australian participants with greater choice in accessing high-quality attendant care and support services.
Interact Australia is a not-for-profit organisation and registered NDIS, NIISQ, icare, TAC and Lifetime Support provider. For more information about Interact Australia’s services, please call 1300 388 873.
