IntoWork is pleased to announce the appointment of Christine Zechowski as Group Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 October 2026.
Christine steps into the role following an extensive national recruitment process and brings more than 17 years of leadership, governance and transformation experience across the IntoWork Group. Having joined the organisation in 2009 as Chair of MRAEL following the merger of Wide Bay Group Training and MRAEL, Christine has played an integral role in IntoWork’s growth and evolution over the past decade and a half. Since then, she has served in a number of senior leadership positions, including Chief Operating Officer and later Chief Executive Officer of MRAEL, where she successfully led the organisation through a period of significant growth, diversification and organisational development.
Most recently, Christine has been a member of the IntoWork Group Executive team, serving as Group Chief Operating Officer (Employment, Education and Training), before also taking on the role of Group Chief Commercial Officer and Interim Group Chief Executive Officer. During this time, she has worked closely with businesses across the Group, strengthening collaboration, building strong relationships and helping drive greater alignment around IntoWork’s purpose, values and long-term strategy.
Chair of the IntoWork Board, Elizabeth Board, said Christine’s appointment reflects both her leadership capability and deep understanding of the organisation. “Christine has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout her career and has a genuine commitment to IntoWork’s purpose. Her extensive knowledge of the Group, combined with her focus on sustainability, growth and creating opportunities for people and communities, positions her strongly to lead IntoWork into its next chapter.”
Throughout her career, Christine has successfully led organisations through growth, transformation and change, while maintaining a strong focus on governance, accountability and delivering positive outcomes for the communities they serve.
As Interim Group CEO, Christine has continued to build momentum across the Group through a focus on culture, simplification, leadership and strengthening organisational capability. Her appointment provides continuity at an important time for the organisation as IntoWork continues to expand its impact across Australia and New Zealand.
“I am incredibly honoured by the Board’s decision and grateful for the trust that has been placed in me,” Christine said. “Over the past 17 years, I have had the privilege of growing alongside the organisations that now form the IntoWork Group and have seen first-hand the extraordinary difference our people make every day. What excites me most about this opportunity is the potential ahead. By continuing to invest in our people, strengthen our culture and focus on the individuals, employers and communities we serve, I believe we can create even greater impact together.
“I look forward to continuing our journey as one team and thank our people, partners and stakeholders for their ongoing support.”
Christine’s appointment reflects both the strength of leadership within the IntoWork Group and the organisation’s continued focus on creating opportunities for individuals, businesses and communities.
